A chiseled looking capital M is draped with curling vines in this public domain drop cap M image. This drop cap letter is one of a matching series of images of letters from this text. The other letters include: A, B, C, E, H, I, L, N, O, S, T and U.
All of these letter images were included in the 1872 publicaiton A Book of Emblems with Interpretations Thereof. It remains unclear if the publishers Bell and Daldy used letters from a print foundry, they were drawn by the author Alfred Gatty (1809-1873) or they were drawn by some un-named artist.
