Hay Harvest

Charming drawing of a young family during the hay harvest. While Dad takes a breather after harvesting the hay, his young son adds it to one of the piles with a pitch fork. Sitting with Dad are Mom and the baby of the family. It’s a sweet family scene of working together to bring in the hay harvest and one that would work well for fall-related projects.

The illustration is the work of Ida Waugh (1846-1919). She illustrated a number of children’s books and many of her pieces are done in these simple colors and feature charming young children.
