The Stained Dress

Another sweet and simple Victorian children’s drawing. Two children appear to be discussing the stained dress. Whatever will we tell mother? Seems to be the most obvious conversation they might be having. It would make a great addition for anyone looking for an image of a child who likes to play in the mud or is messy.

This vintage drawing was included in the vintage children’s book Holly Berries. It was illustrated by Ida Waugh (d. 1919) and released in 1881.
