Stormy Weather

Not sure how to work this into a Valentine’s Day image but it was from a 1911 book about Cupid. Cute little cupid comes out from under the protection of his umbrella to see if the rain has stopped. Stormy weather for sure but just not coming up with a good romantic metaphor for this one. Perhaps someone can help me out with this one and offer a suggestion or two.

No matter what we call this vintage illustration, I can tell you that it is the work of Oliver Herford (1863-1935) and is in the public domain in most of the world.
