Letter S with Flowers

This is one of my favorite drop cap S images. I love how the stem of the flower travels through the letter S. Unlike so many of these old drop cap images, this one is fairly crisp and in good condition. Rubber stampers might really like this one.

It’s such a shame that they didn’t identify an illustrator when they published The Girl’s Own Paper, Vol. VIII, No. 357, October 30, 1886.
