Striking Floral Border with Bee

Striking black and white floral border with three flowers and a bee. With a pair of daisies and what looks like a lady’s slipper or iris flower, a bee sits on a leafy branch as if making up his mind which flower to visit next.

This vintage chapter heading border is one of the crispest I’ve seen in a while. It looks like a rubber stamp or block print and would make a terrific addition to your next creative project.

This vintage image and page spacer was included in The Book of Brave Old Ballads from 1879. It appears to be the work of a print foundry, rather than the artist who illustrated the book – John Gilbert (1817-1897).
