Vintage border or page spacer image with symbols of knowledge. Bold leaves and vines are the platform for an ink well and quill, a book and an urn-like vase. I think it would make a great image to use on a scrapbook page about scholarship.
Thomas E. Hill published Hill’s Album of Biography and Art in 1882. It included a number of wonderful illustrations and stock print foundry images.
