Lady with Hat

This vintage children’s book illustration is a bit unusual. Most of the illustrations I’ve worked with from Kate Greenaway (1846-1901) of people include children. This one shows a seated lady with hat. It looks like she might be adding flowers and a pretty red ribbon to the top of the hat. The pale green hat matches her long green dress. The ribbon looks the same as the ribbon holding her auburn hair.

Lady with hat is the cover image from Greenaway’s own book Language of Flowers.
