Young girl at the mercantile.

Remember the first time your mom sent you into the store alone with her grocery list? This vintage image brings those memories to life as a young girl in her bonnet, apron and pantaloons, hands her mother’s list to the mercantile owner. The shop keeper is reaching over his counter and smiling at the young girl. This black and white picture could add a bit of charm to your next creative project.

Authors Eillis Town, Sophie May and Ella Farman did not identify the artists who illustrated their book, Lill’s Travels in Santa Claus Land. It was published in 1878.
