This vintage image is from one of the many wonderful children’s books from the publishing firm Blackie & Son of Glasgow. It was included in their 1883 work A Box of Stories: Packed for Young Folks.
A wonderful block-print style border of thistle flowers and leaves. This image could easily be colorized to make a bold and striking border or left black and white for a more subtle look.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
