Brooklyn Bridge

A lovely period drawing from when the Brooklyn Bridge first opened. With tall masted sailing ships and steamers making their way under the structure, one hardly recognizes the New York skyline of yesteryear in this vintage bridge drawing.

This is one of two wonderful drawings of the Brooklyn Bridge that were included in the commemorative program from the Opening Ceremonies of the New York and Brookly Bridge, May 24, 1883. It was compiled by William C. Kingsley, Seth Low and Franklin Edson and printed by the Brooklyn Eagle Job Printing Department.
