Land Snail Shell Drawing

I don’t know about where you live but whenever I have come across a land snail shell, it certainly wasn’t as pretty as this one. Identified as the shell of an achatina purpurea, this green, pink and red shell drawing is one of the prettiest snail shells I have ever seen.

Not sure what else I can share with you other than this colorful land snail shell drawing is from an 1822 natural history dictionary written by the French author Jean Baptiste Geneviève Marcellin (1778-1846). Marcellin, as far as I can tell, did not provide credit for the illustrator, engraver or colorist of this drawing.
