This charming full-color, vintage image is of three children in a horse drawn cart. It is one of those wonderful hand-watercolored images from an old book which unfortunately did not give credit to the original illustrator or the colorist. It offers a number of options, including using the watercolor tree in the background separately.
Our Horses was one of the many wonderful children’s books published by Frederick Warne and Company from London. It was released in 1880 without identifying either the author or the illustrator.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
