Fierce Eagle and Wren King

According to the book where we found this interesting image, the eagle has actually come to acknowledge the tiny wren, King of the Birds – see the crown the wren is wearing. It would seem that this image would be much more powerful were the wren to be removed and the eagle used alone. Either way this vintage, art-deco style image is quite similar to today’s clip art and offers a great deal of options for scrapbookers, mixed media artists, and anyone looking for great vintage art for crafters.

This is another wonderful example of the work of Dugald Stewart Walker (1883-1937). It was included in the 1918 book The Boy Who Knew What the Birds Said.
