Chewink or Towee

Our family and today’s ornithologists appear to call these birds towees but John Burroughs called these interesting orange, black and white birds Chewinks. Either way this painted bird image is but a copy of these beautiful birds that we are lucky enough to have in our back yard. This copyright free vintage full-color illustration is fully downloadable and waiting to be added to your next creative project.

This was included in the 17th edition of Bird Stories from Burroughs published in 1911. It included this wonderful bird drawing from the noted artist Louis Agassiz Fuertes (1874-1927).
