Little Flute Player

There’s such a sweetness to the work of Ida Waugh (1846-1919). She literally filled books with her illustrations of children like this little flute player. He appeared in The Minstrel Boy and Other Stories, a book published in 1892.

The Minstrel boy is wearing green short pants and a red and orange shirt. He is casually leaning against a tree, playing his flute. His feet are bare but there’s a cute little hat on his head. A sweet scene with a young musician.
