A cobweb drapes a scholar’s tools in what appears to be an abandoned desk. A vintage globe, telescope, books, pen and ink sit on a desk in this great black and white household image. The student is gone, but his scholarly tools remain waiting for him.
Tales Worth Telling, Traveller’s Adventures by Sea and Land was published by Munroe and Francis & C.S. Francis & Co. in 1852. They didn’t identify an illustrator which is a shame since they used so many wonderul illustrations within its pages.
