Mending

mendingI wish this charming little black and white drawing was larger but perhaps someone might find it more workable because it is small.

A little girl concentrates on her mending. With some extra pins tucked in her apron and a serious look on her face, she sits in a chair sewing her dolly’s clothes.

The drawing, or more like an engraving, is from an 1875 compilation of Rhymes and Jingles collected by Mary Mapes Dodge. No illustrator is given credit for this vintage arts and crafts image.
