Vintage black and gold endpaper background from an 1890s era natural history book. The paper might have been a thick linen bond, you can almost see the patterning of the paper itself.
The scan is a bit faded towards the center of the book but I’ll leave it to you to decide to incorporate it into your own art or trim it away. The all over, repeating flower pattern looks as if it were done in gold leaf. It has small flowers and leaves on curving branches. The solid black background adds even more texture and depth to the endpaper design.
