Acrisius, King of Argos, was warned by the oracle at Delphi that he would one day be killed by his grandson. Fearing for his life but also fearful of killing Zeus's son, he set his daughter Danae and her son Perseus adrift at sea. Zeus's son Perseus lived to become one of Greek Mythology's greatest heroes.
