Cyprinus acratus Fish Drawing
Another stunning, hand-colorized fish image from the talented ichthyologist Marcus Elieser Bloch. Bloch was well known for his two large anthologies which included over 400 hand-colored plates. He is said to have named the fish for his patrons so while this fish bears the original name Cyprinus Acratus, it looks much like a goldfish to me.
