Drop Cap J Image

Join in the fun of bringing new life into old art with this vintage drop cap J image. A bit different from many of the letter images of the time, the traditional block printed letter is decorated with a bit of scrollwork design to create a much more interesting fancy letter J image.

Even more fun is that we found 11 other similarly styled letters from this publisher; the letters included: A, C, D, G, H, I, M, O, P, T and W.

This set of fancy letters were all used in the 1881 book How a Little Boy Learned to Be Wise and Good. It was written by Helen Cross Knight (1814-1906). These images are most likely from the publisher Thomas Nelson and Sons.
