Dressing up the Dog

Dressing up the DogThis vintage drawing is of two young children dressing up the dog. The children and their pet seem to be walking proudly as the dog shows off its new dress. How much fun would it be to have a pet that didn’t mind dressing up. All of ours usually did the no-bones flop. You know, when you get the animal all dressed it just flops over on its side as if it suddenly has no bones and can’t stand up.

The dog is wearing a green dress with a white collar. The one little girl is wearing a red dress with white stockings and red shoes on her feet. The other child is wearing a blue gown with white hose and blue shoes.

This charming image would make a great addition to your next scrapbooking, mixed media, or greeting card project.

There’s just something so charming about the work of Ida Waugh (d.1919). It was use to illustrate Holly Berries which was published in 1881.
